What a year it’s been! I think about where I started last January and how far I’ve come on this journey in just 12 months. The goals I set for my business have far exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t be more grateful. 2014 was a transformational year where my business went through a major overhaul. For starters, I changed the name of my business from Catherine Constantine Portrait to Mia Boudoir…which I absolutely love. Secondly, I spent countless hours sitting in front of the computer redesigning my website, giving it a whole new look and feel. My intentions were set on creating an image and brand that was a true a reflection of my soul…sophisticated, elegant, and classy. My goal was to create an amazing experience from beginning to end by providing a luxury service to each of my clients that made them look and feel amazing.
September was a pivotal month for me. I flew out to Kanas City to be monitored by another professional boudoir photographer, Petra Herrmann, who learned shortly after my visit that she has breast cancer. I’m so grateful to Petra, as she shared her wisdom and experience with me, without holding back. I truly believe it’s because of Petra my business is set for take off. She taught me all the in’s and out’s of her boudoir business and shared with me some amazing posing tips! She’s an amazing person and friend, and I wish her all the best as she confronts her worst fears. She will be in my heart and prayers as she battles and wins the fight against breast cancer.
Here’s a look back on some of the beautiful woman I had the great privilege photographing this past year!
Jenny, you rocked it!

As 2014 draws to an end my thoughts are already on the future. Im so excited for 2015 to start and I’m already setting new goals and intentions for both my personal and professional life. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
It can’t be stressed enough the importance of having a professional hair and makeup artist prepare you for your boudoir photography session…the difference is night and day. I have had clients in the past ask if they could do their own hair and makeup, and my answer to them is this…”it’s simply not an option.” Clients don’t always understand the importance of having their hair and makeup done by a professional stylist. I want to shed light on the subject by explaining what experience has taught me over the years and why I incorporate it into the boudoir session. First, it’s included in the session fee and is not discounted for doing your own. Second, its part of the overall experience here at Mia Boudoir. We want this to be relaxing, memorable, luxurious and fun for our clients. This “prep” time is probably most important and enjoyable because it helps reduce stress and calm nerves. Our clients spend about an hour or so with the makeup and hair artist as she prepares them for their boudoir photography shoot. During this time, they get to relax, sip on champagne, indulge in fine chocolates while listening to their favorite music to get them feeling sexy. What woman doesn’t love to be pampered? Lastly, everyday makeup just isn’t sufficient enough for having your photo taken professionally, it tends to look washed out and disappears in a photograph. Thus, the benefits of having a professional hair and makeup artist, who is well trained, knows how to enhance your features and bring out your natural beauty, so worth it!
The importance of having a professional hair and makeup artist not only makes you look and feel great, but also enhances the quality of your photographs. Our stylist will talk with you and address any needs or concerns you may have, and create a look you will be happy with. Oh, one last thing I forgot to mention…don’t forget to book a night out afterwards because you will look amazing!
I recently had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful woman in Kanas City this fall. She is planning a very special birthday gift for her husband and thought she would surprise him with some sexy and alluring photographs of herself. I’m so happy Tori gave me permission to post her images, she looks amazing! Tori said she wants to be an inspiration for other woman and empower them to have their own boudoir photos taken. “It’s the best thing I ever did for myself.” Tori
