About Me

Hi, my name is Catherine Schultz, owner and creative artist at Mia Boudoir. I fell in love with photographing women about 10 years ago and it’s been my passion ever since. I am a self made entrepreneur and built my business with a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment, and it’s something I’m very proud of. It’s truly a personal legacy and testament to self-empowerment.

I believe that all women are beautiful, whether they believe it or not. To have this incredible opportunity to show my clients how beautiful they are is a wonderful gift. Something you should know about me is I’m very passionate about boudoir photography. I love photographing women in lingerie and providing them with sexy boudoir portraits they can share with someone they love. Empowering women and giving back their confidence is so rewarding. I strive to deliver the best I can at every boudoir photoshoot and provide a luxury service one would expect.

What I love most about boudoir photography is the transformation process my clients experience at the boudoir session. Most are nervously excited when they come to their photoshoot, feeling insecure when they step in front of the camera. But at some point during the photoshoot, my clients undoubtably come out of her shell and open up like a beautiful flower…this is when we are both really getting into the photography session and having fun.

By the time it’s over, they are filled with excitement and glowing with confidence. Clients often tell me how much fun they had during their shoot, and how they can’t wait to do it again! So, put your fears and a million excuses aside, and book the shoot.

Where is your favorite place to vacation?

South Haven is one of my favorite places to vacation because they have the best beaches and sunsets, and their sandy beaches are the best in Michigan. I love staying at B&B’s too!

What is your favorite food?

Seafood is by far…scallops, shrimp, crab and salmon, followed by Italian.

Where do you love to shop?

Honestly, I love shopping at Home Goods, Marshalls, and Nordstrom Rack. I also love shopping at unique stores, one of a kind, and antiques.

Do you have any pets?

Yes I do, I have a beautiful Ragdoll cat, properly named Romeo because he’s such a lover

What else do you do besides photography?

I’m a registered nurse and work full-time at a near by hospital.

What do you enjoy besides photography?

I love to garden, go on long walks, spend time with friends, listen to music, sit outside on my patio and enjoy a good glass of wine, shop, watch movies and sleep! I recently started a new hobby making bath and body products like sugar scrubs, body butters, shower steamers, bath bombs, and lip balms. 

Do you have children? How many?

I have two beautiful grown children, a son and daughter both grown.

Who is your favortie music artist and what type of music do you listen too?

I love Robert Plant, lead singer of Led Zeppelin.  I actually had the pleasure of meeting him three times! We met for drinks in Birmingham Michigan and we kissed. That was about 20 years ago lol. My favorite music to listen to is spa music, it relaxes me when I’m editing photos or enjoying a glass of wine on my patio.
