It can’t be stressed enough the importance of having a professional hair and makeup artist prepare you for your boudoir photography session…the difference is night and day. I have had clients in the past ask if they could do their own hair and makeup, and my answer to them is this…”it’s simply not an option.” Clients don’t always understand the importance of having their hair and makeup done by a professional stylist. I want to shed light on the subject by explaining what experience has taught me over the years and why I incorporate it into the boudoir session. First, it’s included in the session fee and is not discounted for doing your own. Second, its part of the overall experience here at Mia Boudoir. We want this to be relaxing, memorable, luxurious and fun for our clients. This “prep” time is probably most important and enjoyable because it helps reduce stress and calm nerves. Our clients spend about an hour or so with the makeup and hair artist as she prepares them for their boudoir photography shoot. During this time, they get to relax, sip on champagne, indulge in fine chocolates while listening to their favorite music to get them feeling sexy. What woman doesn’t love to be pampered? Lastly, everyday makeup just isn’t sufficient enough for having your photo taken professionally, it tends to look washed out and disappears in a photograph.
